Cheap Eats

Where to eat on the go for Cheap

Today we are featuring Cheap Eats across the island.  Places where you can find affordable and delicious local grinds.

North Shore – The Paia Fish Market offers fresh local fish in a variety of delightful preparations. You can get a fish burger for $10 or a fish taco ala carte for $5.

West Side – Aloha Mixed Plate offers tasty “plate lunch” style dishes at a beachfront Lahaina location with a million dollar ocean view. The favorite shoyu chicken plate is $8.95 and the popular aloha combo plate with shoyu chicken, fresh fish and teriyaki beef is only $14.95.

Central Maui – Da Kitchen offers island style food in huge portions sizes, so large you’ll usually want to share.  They are famous for their fried spam musubi $6.  Their loco mocos come in such large proportions they are aptly named the Polynesian Paralysis moco and the Kanak Attack combo moco.

Kihei – Cafe O Lei serves a lunch menu of fresh salads and sandwiches all for under $20 in a casual setting located upstairs in the rainbow mall. Kings BBQ and Chinese Restaurant offers a variety of local and Chinese dishes that you can pick and choose your favorites to create your own combo plate for under $10.  My favorite is the mochiko chicken.

UpCountry – Casanovas Cafe serves coffee, pastries, sandwiches and pastas until 2 PMbefore the main restaurant opens up.  They have an assortment of pre-made delights that are perfect for a morning grab and go.

These are all places where you can get a quick lunch before heading to the beach or take you food to go.
