Real Property Assesment Notices

80,500 Maui property owners will be receiving their real property assessment notices next week.  The assessment notices sent out by the County Real Property Assessment Division are for tax purposes.  Real property taxes are determined using these valuation assessments as net taxable values and the tax rate which will be set in June.

If you disagree with or have any discrepancy with your property assessment you have until April 7 to file an appeal with the board of review at a cost of $75.00.

The assessment determined that the total value of all Maui County taxable Real Property is $41.1 billion.  That’s a 13.5% increase from last year.  This significant increase is attributed to new constructions, subdivisions, additions, general improvements and rising sales prices.
