Celebrating Labor Day on Maui with The Smith Team

Aloha Friends,
There is always a gentle transition from summer to the beautiful month of September, but for some, September Labor Day is a celebration while for others is a holiday to ponder on the work rendered over the past year. Here on Maui, it is more than a three-day weekend. It is paying tribute to the members of the Maui community who work to keep the island beautiful.
September's first Monday of each year is reserved for Labor Day. It presents a memorial to the history and the achievements of workers in the United States. It invites each and every citizen to appreciate the efforts and energy that goes to molding the new facilities in the community as well as the island. Every single one of you, regardless of the profession, whether you work hospitality, healthcare, farming activities, teaching and real estate, you are the heartbeat of Maui.
Maui has crafted its own distinction in celebrating the holiday. Instead of parades and backyard barbecues, we adopt the island's more leisurely lifestyle. Many residents as well as tourists spend the day at the beach, spend time with ‘ohana, and enjoy the natural scenery of Maui — ranging from Haleakalā sun rises to the South Shore sunsets.
If you're looking for ideas this Labor Day weekend:
- Pack a picnic and head to Baldwin Beach or Kamaole III
- Support local eateries with a brunch outing in Paia or Wailuku
- Take a hike through the lush trails of ‘Iao Valley or Twin Falls
- Or simply relax at home and enjoy the peaceful island vibe
A Note from the Smith Team; supporting clients, neighbors and Maui professionals keeps us, as a local foundation real estate company, exceptionally thankful. The purchase and sale of every home attests to the efforts and commitment of all contributors working to enhance life -- something that Labor Day celebrates at its core. Whether you're a lifelong resident or dreaming of making Maui your home, we're here to help you every step of the way.
Mahalo to Maui’s Workers. Thank you to each essential worker, each business owner, each tradesperson, and each leader of the community — mahalo nui loa.
Your contribution is the only reason Maui is an astonishing locale, you have made it. May you have a safe, restful, and joyful Labor Day.
With aloha,
