Market Update

The Realtors Association of Maui releases home and condominium sales data every month to make sure that Realtors island wide are supplied with the best and most accurate data. This data not only keeps our team apprised of changes in the market, but it also allows us to better serve our clients.
    While demand for property on Maui continues to soar, the actual inventory fell in the month of July. What properties did sell in July were on the market for far less time then then properties in July 2018. The average time on the market for Residential Homes was 134 days, and Condos were sitting at an average of 137 days.  The inventory for Residential Homes at the end of July was 441 units. Condos were down to 481 units at the end of July. 
    Curiously, with the combined forces of lower supply and higher demand the median price for a home on Maui fell from this same time in 2018. The median price for a Condo right now is $493,000 and for a Residential Home it’s $794,500. To view the complete report, visit the Realtor Association of Maui’s website here.

Kihei has opened a brand new affordable housing community called Kaiwahine Village. The application process has opened to the public and the lucky applicants will be selected via lottery on August 19th at 1:30pm.
    It’s important to note that at this time there is no option for an online application, and it will have to be picked up in person at Kihei Business Park’s Malcom Center, 1350 N.
