Market Update

According to a report from Core Logic, Hawaii ranked #5 in the country for home price appreciation in March when distressed sales were factored out. 

The rate was 14.3% and even counting distressed sales, the rate was still 13.4%.

What is most significant is that this is the first time since 2006 that the year over year appreciation was over 10% for both categories, i.e. with or without distressed sales included.

The reason why our featured property says rare vacation rental property is that this is one of those very few exceptions where the zoning allows for short term rentals.  99.9% of all residential properties do not allow short term rentals unless you go through a rather tedious permitting process with no guaranties of success.  We suspect that this 4 unit home located adjacent to world famous Mama's Fish House will sell rather quickly.  Call or email us if you'd like more information including the rather substantial rental income this property generates.
