Market Update

Yesterday Maui County started accepting applications for its First Time Home Buyer's Down payment Assistance Program. This program assists low to above moderate income, first time home buyers with getting the down payment they need or helping with closing costs.  Grants up to $30,000 will be awarded to eligible applicants with qualifying properties. 

The maximum amount granted will not exceed 5% of the purchase price or appraised value.  Applications can be picked up at the Housing Division Administration office located at, 2065 Main Street, Suite 108 in Wailuku.  Applications must be submitted along with a pre-approval letter from an authorized mortgage lender.  Completed applications are due to the Housing Division Administration office by Friday January 4, 2019.  

On Thursday, January 17th, 66 applicants will be selected through a lottery drawing process.  The chosen applicants will then have 10 days to meet requirements such as submitting signed tax returns and completing a survey.  Let us know if you need help finding a home.
