Opening Coin Toss of Super Bowl LVIII to Acknowledge Lahainaluna Football after Maui Wildfires

As the coin is flipped to determine which team will receive the opening kickoff in Super Bowl LVIII, a special tribute will be paid to the Lahainaluna High School football team. The team, based in Maui, Hawaii, has been deeply affected by the recent wildfires that have ravaged the island.

In recognition of their resilience and determination in the face of adversity, the coin toss will be used as a platform to acknowledge the Lahainaluna football team. The team's head coach, Garrett Tihada, will be invited to participate in the coin toss ceremony alongside the captains of both teams.

As the coin is flipped, the crowd will be encouraged to cheer loudly for the Lahainaluna team, showing their support and solidarity. This gesture is a small but meaningful way to honor the team's spirit and to remind us all of the importance of coming together in times of crisis.

Let us hope that the Lahainaluna football team continues to persevere and that they find the strength to overcome the challenges they face. And let us also remember that, no matter where we are, we can always find inspiration in the resilience and determination of others.
