Market Update

The economists at Realtor magazine say the next three months will be the best time to buy.  The seasonal transition is favoring buyers.

Mortgage rates are still at all time lows, below 4%.  Homes are lingering on the market longer at a median of 80 days, a 7% increase from August.  Home prices are declining 1% month over month from August.

There is less buying competition, mortgage applications dropped 6.7%.  The biggest challenge buyers may have is a limited selection as the inventory has already peaked for 2015.

P.S. -  Hawaiian Electric proposed a community based renewable energy program where customers who cannot or will not have residential solar systems can benefit from community solar systems to offset their electric bills and support clean energy for the state.
