Market Update

A hurricane watch has been issued for Maui County as hurricane Lane continues it's path towards Hawaii.  While there is no way of knowing what impacts hurricane Lane will have on the islands it is always important to be prepared

Maui electric Company suggests you have a 14 day supply of non-perishable foods in your home that require little to no cooking.  Don't forget to also have a supply of food for your pets.  Recommended water supply is 1 gallon per person in the home per 14 days. Other important items to have on hand in the event of a power outage are flashlights, portable radio, batteries, can opener, propane, ice packs, lighter, cash and first aid kit. 

Your home also needs to be prepared for the storm.  Tie down and store all loose objects including plants.  Cover all window and door openings with boards or shielding materials.  Properly secure propane tanks.  Condominium complexes are advised to secure the elevator on the top floor.

P.S. -  81 animals from the Maui Humane Society found forever homes last weekend during the clear the shelter adoption event.  12 dogs, 54 cats, 8 rabbits and 5 guinea pigs were adopted from the Maui facility during the nationwide event.
