Market Update
Diving is a great way to experience Maui's ocean life first hand. Becoming a certified scuba diver is a lot easier than you may think. I got certified in only two quick days, by doing the majority of the testing online. Now I can go to any of Maui's many dive shops, rent gear and go explore shoreline marine ecosystems on my own, with a buddy of course.
Some of Maui's most renowned dive spots include the famed Molokini crater, and the wrecked Carthaginian dive boat at a depth of 110 feet. Both provide homes for marine wildlife such as turtles, fish, and sharks. Neighbor islands Lanai, and Molokai also have esteemed dive spots such as the Cathedrals on Lanai.
Even if you don't have time to get scuba certified you can enjoy Maui's marine wildlife by shoreline snorkeling or the popular snuba. Snuba allows you to dive further than snorkeling by breathing through a regulator connected to air supply above the water, and it only requires a 15 min safety briefing.
