There is no doubt that Hawaii is one of the most popular destinations in the world for snowbirds, or people who travel during the winter to escape whatever cold climate they are currently living in. If you are planning on traveling this winter, or for the holidays it would be best to start looking for flights now. Its estimated that travelers can save over $100 per airline ticket just by booking 3 to 5 months in advance, and sometimes even more depending on the airline. 

According to the experts at Hopper, the absolute cheapest month to fly to Hawaii is October. In October you can purchase tickets that are as low as $525 round trip. Following closely in price are November and January in which you can purchase round trip tickets in the low $600’s. For prices like that who wouldn’t want to travel to the happiest place in America this winter? According to a recent study performed by WalletHub, Hawaii scored higher than any other state across several categories related to the overall happiness and well-being of the people who live here. The state Department of Transportation announced that there are now traffic cameras installed in several of Maui’s busiest intersections. Officials from HDOT were quick to point out that the cameras are not meant to take pictures of traffic violations, but rather to give the public another tool they can use to monitor traffic conditions across the island.  To view the live snapshots taken by these new cameras just visit Go Akamai’s website here.
