Market Update

As the year comes to a close, the real estate market continues to ramp up for single family homes. According to the Realtors Association of Maui, more single family homes were sold in November than in any month over the last two years. This trend is likely to continue into the new year because of scarcity of new listings and historically low interest rates on mortgages. 

If you are considering selling, now may be the best time to take advantage of this unprecedented buyer demand. According to some more statistics from our friends at the Realtors Association of Maui the median price for a single family home increased to $852,500. On average the seller of a single family home in November received 97.7% of the listing price.

As of today, there are less than 300 single family homes on the market, meaning that what is available is not likely to stay that way for long. Condominium sales were up in November as well, though not quite as aggressively as in single family homes. The median sales price for a condo on Maui is $518,520 with 707 on the market as of today. On average the seller of a condominium received 97.8% of the list price.

The Banyan Tree in Lahaina wrapped in thousands of lights is truly a sight to behold. The tree which is now 147 years old will be lit nightly through the rest of the week from 6pm to midnight. Keep in mind that you will need to wear a mask and keep your distance from others.

See Santa Arrive By Canoe

Only in Hawaii will you be able to see Santa Claus arrive not on a sleigh being led by reindeer, but on an outrigger canoe. On December 24th at 9am Santa will make his appearance at Wailea Beach.

Down The Hatch in Lahaina has been hosting an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party for 6 years, and the owners have no intention of letting COVID-19 stop them this year. Grab an ugly sweater and a mask and head over to the West Side on Christmas Eve.
