Since Maui has virtually no seasons and beautiful sunny weather a majority of the year, it is the perfect travel destination to enjoy some golfing. There are a total of 14 public golf courses on Maui (Including Lanai) and 2 private courses, King Kamehameha Golf Club and Maui Country Club. Go to www.golf-maui.com for course maps and rates.
One of the most famous golf courses on Maui is The Plantation Course in Kapalua. This is where the PGA Tour's Hyundai Tournament of Champions is held in the beginning of each year. With its winner-only format, only champions from the previous PGA Tour Season are eligible to compete. The signature hole 18 is the PGA Tour's longest at 663 yards.
The Dunes at Maui Lani in Kahului is the newest golf course on Maui and it is a local favorite. The prices are less expensive than the golf courses in the resort areas of Wailea and Kapalua. Plus, you get to enjoy some great local food at the Cafe O' Lei Restaurant located in the clubhouse.
Whether you are a beginner golfer or a professional, you get to enjoy the most amazing ocean views and the beautiful weather while golfing in a tropical paradise known as Maui.
