Market Update

Freddie Mac economists are staying optimistic with their predictions for the remainder of 2016 despite a gloomier first quarter than anticipated.

The unemployment rate is expected to drop back down below 5% as the labor market remains strong, causing modest wage gains above inflation.


Mortgage rates are expected to remain low, averaging around 4% for the rest of 2016.  The continued low mortgage rates are forecasted to fuel a boost in loan originations reaching $1.7 billion. 

Home prices will continue to rise by a predicted 4.8% for the remainder of 2016 and an additional 3.5% in 2017 leading to more equity gains for homeowners.
