Market Update


According to research conducted by JPMorgan Chase, the shadow inventory of troubled mortgages and foreclosed homes saw a 1.2 million decrease in the first of the year.  They expect the progress to double by the end of this year. 

This is due in part to the rising number of short sales which has allowed the banks to get rid of some of their shadow inventory.  This should prevent downward pressure on home prices going into 2013. 


In local news, the Maui County's Department of Water Supply has found added water capacity in the Upcountry area that can be used to eliminate the waiting list for new water meters.

The priority list dates back to 1994 with 1,474 applicants.  The plan calls for maximizing the use of surface water in Upcountry.  To learn more click here.
