Market Update

This past weekend we celebrated both Ken and my birthdays while staying at the Honua Kai Resort and Spa in Ka'anapali.  We enjoyed a 3 night stay in a 3 bedroom oceanfront unit overlooking the pool area with spectacular ocean views.  
 
Although we have sold units in this complex in the past, this is the first time that we got to experience staying at Honua Kai as guests.  
 
Some of the positive features are the amenities.  There are 3 different pool areas in their aquatic playground.  My 5 and 3 year old daughters absolutely loved the waterslide (went on it numerous times) and water caves in the keiki pool.  I personally loved that there were 4 hot tubs onsite.  Also, the pool area does not close till 10 p.m.
 
We ate at Duke's Beach House for dinner one night and they had great food.  You could either sit outside for burgers and finger foods or eat indoors for a fine dining experience.  Reservations are recommended.  While you are lounging at the pool area during the daytime, there are pool servers that will take your lunch order from Duke's.

The Ho'ola Spa also opened up earlier this year as well and there is a fitness center located next to it.  I'll have to come back and try the spa.  There will be a new Whaler's General Store opening in the Konea Tower in the future.
 
The room itself was amazing with 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.  The master bathroom had a very large walk in shower with a shower head on either side and a large soaking tub.  All of the rooms were very spacious.  We did most of our cooking from the Wolf BBQ grill located on our huge lanai.  It felt like staying in a home since we had a fully equipped kitchen and a washer/dryer in our unit.
 
I loved how there was underground parking for guests and an elevator that took you straight to your room level.  This is very helpful for families with kids and lots of stuff to carry back to your hotel room.
 
I cannot think of anything negative to say about Honua Kai Resort and I would stay there again.  TripAdvisor rates it as 4.5 out of 5 stars.  To learn more about this resort visit www.honuakai.com.

The developer also still has some units left for sale.  This is a great development if you want a 2nd home on Maui or for to use as a vacation rental.  Let us know if you are interested.
