A new project was announced today for condominiums in North Kihei. Kai Makani Beach Villas will consist of 112 fee simple 2 and 3 bedroom condominium units, at least 56 of which will be offered to owner-occupants and 43 designated as affordable housing units. The affordable units will be based on applicant's income and will range from $198,600 to 373,700. There are very strict income and occupancy requirements for the affordable condos. Non-binding reservations will be accepted beginning next Saturday at 12 P.M. Those who make reservations will be allowed to participate in the lottery to be held on January 8, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at the offices of Coldwell Banker Island Properties in Kihei. Attendance is not required. In regards to the market priced condos, they will range from $435,000 to 585,000.
