| The good news this week is that interest rates have again fallen below 6% for 30 year fixed rate loans. It also appears that the economy may have a hit a little bump on the road to economic recovery. This should be beneficial to the housing market as the Federal Reserve will not feel the need to raise interest rates so quickly or perhaps not at all. Of course, slower economic growth is a two edged sword because it can also means less money for people to purchase homes. Overall, Maui's economy and real estate market should not be greatly affected unless we enter into a severe recession or a terrorist attack affects people's travel and vacation plans. We hope that neither of these events will occur.
