Unbelievable is the way some Realtors® are describing our market. The average sales price was up 21% last year to $591,000 while this week, the median asking price was $875,000, meaning half the sellers are seeking more than that amount, half less.Not only prices were soaring. So were transactions: 1,986 condo closings (up 26 percent) and 1,410 single-family closings (up 42 percent). As a result, resales of Maui County houses and condominiums totaled more than $1.5 billion in 2003. In 2002, the total was $959 million.
