| Although there has been some slowdown in tourism recently, the real estate market continues to be quite strong especially in the low end of the market where inventory levels are almost non-existent. | By the time you read this, it is very possible that our country will be at war; although we are still praying for a last minute diplomatic miracle. If it does start, let us all hope and pray that it will be over quickly with minimal loss of life on both sides. As the events unfold over the next days, weeks, and months, we will keep you apprised of how the Maui economy and real estate market might be affected. The uncertainty over political events and continued weakness in the economy are being felt in the tourism numbers lately; however, in spite of the slowdown (which, by the way has not been pronounced), the super low interest rates are still helping to fuel a very robust real estate market on Maui. It does not appear that this trend will reverse itself any time soon with such low levels of inventory and relatively high demand, but it does bear careful watching. Have a good week!
