New Year's Eve on Maui

This New Year’s Eve will be especially festive not only because we are saying goodbye to the previous year, but because we are also saying goodbye to this decade. If you find yourself on Maui for New Year’s Eve, prepare for fireworks, good food, and festivities all over the island. Keep reading below as we explore a few of our favorite activities.

Fireworks

Midnight Display at the Grand Wailea:
Though fireworks may not be as popular on the mainland during New Year’s celebrations, they are extremely popular in Hawaii. Even before it gets dark, you will be able to hear the loud popping and booming of fireworks in every neighborhood. For a more formal show, the biggest one is going to be found in Wailea in front of the massive Grand Wailea resort. The fireworks are launched from a boat offshore, so you and your family will be able to enjoy the spectacle from the comfort of the beach.

Fireworks Cruise:
There are several tour companies offering cocktail and dinner cruises on New Year’s Eve that will allow you to enjoy some time on the open water, as well as observe the fireworks from a different perspective. Below are the individual companies offering cruises.

-Pacific Whale Foundation is hosting several cocktail cruises which will depart from both their Maalaea and Lahaina Harbor Locations. To book tickets and view details click here.
